Work in Progress Wednesday

So I've been brainstorming on what exactly I'm gonna post here. To motivate me to keep crafting, I decided to give regular updates on the things I'm making.
When I tell people I craft, or show them a piece I've made, they often tell me they could never do that because they don't have the patience. But I don't have any patience myself! That's why I usually have about 30 UFO's lying around. I'm really trying to get that number down, but there are so many wonderful diy projects to be found online, I find it hard to actually finish something before moving on to the next project. If the project I choose to start on is large, I often find myself bored by using the same technique so long. That's why I'm usually working on like 5 projects at a time.

Right now I'm working on 4 projects, and I just finished 1 too.

The first project I'd like to share with you is Ridges & Cowl by Insa Ka. I immediatly liked the simple details of this sweater, and since I'm pretty new to knitting, I was glad to see it only used simple stitches I already know, like knit, purl, make 1 & decrease 1. Ofcourse I replaced the yarn (I always do, I'm cheap, so I only buy cheap local yarn ;)) so the sizing etc. is a bit different than the original. Still, I'm pretty pleased with how it's turning out. I'm working on the cowl now, so I'm almost finished with my first knit sweater!

The next project I'd like to share is a crochet vest I designed. I am debating knitting the sleeves, but I'm not sure yet how I'm going to finish it. I'd love your opinion on it! It's made with the crocodile stitch, which I really love. It has a great texture, and works up pretty quick.

So, what do you think?
The next project is a tribute to gaming. I got inspired by this pattern. I didn't actually download it though, changed the lettering, and added a border to the design. Oh and I changed the color of the controller, since my xbox controllers are black. The border is gonna be all colors and 8-bit figures when I'm finished, but that's gonna take a while.

There's 1 more project I'm working on, but since it's meant to be a christmas present, I'm not gonna post it just yet. I did finish a sewing project las week that I would like to show of. It's Cotton + Leather clutch from the wonderful Elsie and Emma from A Beautiful Mess. They have great diy tutorials, I suggest you check it out if you haven't already! I used faux-leather for mine, and I addeda strap, but I don't think that makes it any less pretty!

So, I would love to hear your feedback on my projects!
On another, unrelated note, while taking these pictures my dog seemed to feel neglected, so here's Peper (Dutch for pepper):

Now I'm gonna play some Black Ops 2 with my bf, it came in the mail today so I really can't wait to try it!

  1. You're quite the talented knitter! The most I've ever made is a scarf!

  2. I love the clutch. I like the vest without the sleeves.

    1. Thanks! I made the clutch in about an hour with scraps from my stash, it´s a great tutorial. If I don´t put sleeves on I´ll be finished already, so that´s a good idea...
